Welcome to the First Newsletter from the Friends of Ickenham Hall
Hello,
This is the first email that the Friends of Ickenham Hall have ever sent to a mailing list. Hopefully it will provide you with a quick insight as to what we do, and events we run.
You're receiving this email as you expressed an interest to be on our mailing list when you entered the "Guess how many rose petals there are in the glass case" at the Compass Theatre during the pantomime 'Sleeping Beauty' - you are welcome to unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe from this list link at the bottom of this email.
Thank you for taking part in the competition to guess the number of Rose Petals in the glass display case at last year's pantomime. The money raised from this competition helps us continue in the restoration and repair of Ickenham Hall. If you would like to see what this money will go towards, then make a date in your diary for the 6th June as that is when we are having our yearly open day. For more details see the events section below, or take a look at our website: www.ickenhamhall.org.uk
If there are any events you would like to suggest to us to assist with fund raising, we would be appreciative to hear from you.
Friends of Ickenham Hall are a voluntary group, and if you would like to assist us with our various projects then please drop us an email and we shall get back to you.
What do the Friends do, and how did we come about?
We were established in 2009 specifically to raise funds for repair, conservation and where possible restoration work on Ickenham Hall, which is a Grade II listed Georgian mansion dating from 1740.
The Friends are a non-profit organisation, and so the funding for this repair and restoration work comes mainly from the support of donations and events we run; however, sometimes we are lucky enough to obtain grants to assist with the works.
Since we have been established, we have so-far completed the restoration and re-painting of most of the windows of Ickenham Hall, with only the 1st floor windows left to do during this year. We have completed the re-decoration of some rooms within the hall, and this includes the restoration of a few of the original fireplaces. The gardens have been re-planted to be sympathetic of what they may have looked like during the time Ickenham Hall was lived in.
There are many tasks ahead of us, and these can only be done with your support.

Ickenham Hall is an operational building and so not all rooms can be accessed on a day-to-day basis as rooms are often being used as offices or used for meetings and classes. Once a year or so, we aim to open Ickenham Hall to the general public, so that they can see as many rooms as possible and learn about some of it's history using self-guided tours and leaflets. A chance to explore the story behind one of Ickenham's historic houses. Tour the Grade II listed Ickenham Hall and see the progress of its restoration. |
