Fireplaces

An original Delft tile fireplace in the Oak Room was in need of repair work including tile replacement. The surviving tiles are originals dating from 1740. We negotiated with the factory to replicate the original designs – which included several different human figures in various costumes. The result is a magnificent and beautiful fireplace.

A second fireplace in the lower hallway has also been repaired and re-tiled.
